my lunch today: whole wheat pancakes, kohlrabi and lettuce

The ingredients

for the pancakes
an egg, whole wheat flour, milk, salt

for the kohlrabi
kohlrabi (young and tender), baby spring onions, baby garlic, dill butter

for the salad
leaves of lettuce, vinaigrette with mustard and parsley

the ingredients

When the butter has melted, add the kohlrabi, the onions and the garlic and stir-fry on medium heat until everything starts smelling nicely. Add a tiny bit of water and close the lid. Reduce the heat to minimum. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

If you look very closely at the chopped baby garlic you already can distinguish the future cloves.

Whilst the kohlrabi is being cooked I prepare the vinaigrette with mustard and parsley. Very nice the Austrian "Englischer Spezial Senf"  (a gift from a friend who swears  it is the best mustard he ever tried....)
